We have just discovered one of the secrets of the masters of haute couture. They all seem to work with Lesage. The design atelier of Jean-Francois Lesage is where masterpieces of fine embroidery are created by a brilliant team of artisians. Amazing! Remember her? Many months ago we had a competition on our blog called “Name that shoe” We asked you to look at our design sketch and help us name it.
The winning name landed on Ofelia (credits to Rikke Krause for her story about Ofelia). In case you have forgotten, this is what Rikke said… “Jeg bliver selvfølgelig nødt til at forsøge mig i jeres konkurrence, for hvilket navn kan være mere passende til en dansk, smuk og feminin sko, end Ofelia? (Naturligvis opkaldt efter smukke Ophelia fra Hamlet ) Udover sammenhængen til Hamlet, så stammer Ophelia (og dermed Ofelia) fra det græske ophelos, der betyder ”hjælp” – og i den her sammenhæng kunne det jo meget vel være hjælp til en fantastisk sommer, en fantastisk fest, et par fantastisk lange og flotte stænger, el.lign.”.
Roughly translated the name landed on Ofelia inspired by the story of Hamlet and the meaning of the name “help”, for example help for a fantastic summer, fantastic party experience or fantastic long gorgeous legs when you wear Ofelia. While browsing through the amazing net of bloggers out there with a passion for shoes, one headline caught our attention.”Ugly shoes are a global issue”. Here we discovered a rather cool blog Solestruck with some rather wild shoes and a rather good competition. If we weren´t already so happy for the barund box we might even get inspired. This girl has multiple authentic raw creative talents and has apparently already been discovered by the Danish Fashion Media and the Couture runways in London and Paris. We were delighted to discover a new inspiring shop in Copenhagen the other day. The two founders, designers & sisters of Danish fashion label DANSK have opened another shop focusing on interior design. The shop is gorgeous, and their selection is well put together. Here is the sustainable Dome lamp by Todd Bracher designed for Danish design co. Mater, Oslo Wood floor lamp, and chair by Danish Poul Kjaerholm.
